Inauguration of Cultural, Sports and NSS Activities

KLS Degree College, Haliyal, organised the inauguration of “Lakshya 2K26”, marking the commencement of the institution’s Cultural, Sports and NSS activities for the academic year 2026–27. The programme was conducted on 7 August 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall of the college.
The programme was graced by Dr. Gurunath Badiger, Principal, Government First Grade Women’s College, Dharwad, as the Chief Guest. Shri Srinivas Prabhu, Principal,KLS Degree College, Haliyal, presided over the programme and members of the teaching staff and students were present.
The programme commenced with a prayer song presented by Tulasi Swadi, seeking blessings for the successful conduct of the activities.
Prof. Sangeeta Prabhu introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest and the dignitaries.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was performed by the esteemed dignitaries, symbolising knowledge, positivity and the beginning of a new academic journey.
This was followed by the formal inauguration of the Sports, Cultural and NSS activities.
A Badge Ceremony was conducted by Prof. Anusha Naikwad, followed by the Pledge, administered by her. The pledge encouraged students to uphold responsibility, discipline, unity and social commitment.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony was conducted by Prof. Shantaram Chilbulkhar, recognising and appreciating students for their achievements and active participation in various activities.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Gurunath Badiger, addressed the gathering and shared valuable thoughts and guidance with the students. His address highlighted the importance of education, participation, leadership, discipline and overall personality development. He encouraged students to actively participate in cultural, sports and social-service activities along with their academic pursuits.
This was followed by the Presidential Remarks by Shri Srinivas Prabhu, Principal, who addressed the students and encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the institution.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Radhika, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, management, Principal, faculty members, organising team and students for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.
