Report on celebration of 112th Foundation Day of Kannada Sahitya
The 112th Foundation Day of the Kannada Sahitya Parishad (KSP) was celebrated at the KLS Degree College, Haliyal. The program, organized by the Haliyal Taluk unit of the Kannada Sahitya Parishad, was inaugurated by the college Principal Prof. Srinivas Prabhu and he said that Kannada is our mother tongue and that is our identity.
The special lecturer, Shri.Vitthal Korvekar, spoke about the Kannada Sahitya Parishad in the name of protecting the Kannada language. He also called on today’s youth to be firmly committed to Kannada. Head of the Folklore Research Center, Shri. Visveswari Basalingaiah Hiremath, arrived as a guest and said that Kannada is the language of our life, emotions and feelings. President KSP, Haliyal Smt. Sumangala Angadi, who presided over the program, said that the Kannada Sahitya Parishad has been organizing many popular literary programs.
KSP Secretary of Haliyal Unit Prof. Shantaram Chibbulakar gave the introductory speech and welcomed the audience, Secretary Shri. Basavaraj Itagi narrated. Kalpana Huddara proposed the vote of thanks, and Kannada songs were sung by the Folklore Research Centre team.
